10U Blue Sox Close Season With Second Tournament Championship

Posted

It was an enjoyable spring and summer for the Lake Shore 10U Blue Sox, who went 29-11-1 overall in a strong travel season.

Playing in the Chesapeake Baseball Association in addition to weekend tournaments, the Blue Sox had many of their tournaments cancelled due to rain but made the most of their tournament opportunities when weather allowed, winning two out of the three tournaments they played and finishing as runners-up once as well.

Lake Shore went 4-0 in the CBA tournament, capping the tournament with an 11-0 win over the Pasadena Eagles in the final on Father’s Day.

The team posed with fathers and grandfathers after the game to celebrate the win, which nicely bookended with the Blue Sox’s tournament championship at the API Spring Thaw back in March.

Lake Shore closed the season by winning three of four games at the End of June Sizzler in Fruitland, finishing second.

The team of Dalton Hall, Jeffrey Bensinger, Carson Jarmer, Brayden Morrison, James Clark, Christian Spoone, Owen Lucas, Dawson Johnson, Matt Jones, Keller Herzberger and Jack Miteff got contributions from all players throughout their 29-11-1 season. Lake Shore is coached by Ryan Herzberger, Don Jarmer, Brian Morrison, Robbie Hall, Derek Lucas and Doug Sisson.

The Blue Sox are holding tryouts for the 2019 11U season on July 30 at 6:00pm and August 4 at 9:00am at Lake Shore Athletic Complex on Field 4. Interested players should email Don Jarmer at don@djarmerflooring.com or Ryan Herzberger at rherzberger@comcast.net for more info.
