12U Blue Sox Rally For Summer Bash Crown

The 12U Lake Shore Blue Sox had their backs up against the wall after starting the Finksburg Summer Bash with two straight losses on the tournament’s opening Saturday.

All they did in response was reel off victory after victory to win the whole shebang.

Lake Shore rallied with a tripleheader sweep on the tournament’s Sunday to win the Summer Bash title, culminating with a victory over a previously unbeaten 25-0 team in the championship game.

Two of Lake Shore’s Sunday wins came against teams that had beaten them the day before, and one was a late-inning comeback.

The 12U Blue Sox are Aden Narock, Andrew Blick, Caiden Zacharski, Dylan Kellner, Ethan Lowery, Jaxson Mallonee, Josh Reil, Liam McCone, Reid Jones, Spencer Potter and Travis Arrieta. They are coached by head coach Bill Reil and assistant coaches Justin Blick, Brian Kellner, Roger Potter and Sean McCone.

“Our boys earned their victory,” said team mom Courtney Zacharski. “They worked harder than ever before and fought until the end, never giving up on themselves. I have never witnessed a team more deserving win something so important.”
