38th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast Committee will hold its annual breakfast honoring community leaders Monday, January 21, 2019 at the La Fontaine Bleue in Glen Burnie. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. and the program begins promptly at 8:00 a.m.

This year’s theme is Realizing the Dream: The Time is Now”. The keynote speaker Michelle Asha Cooper, president of the Institute for Higher Education Policy, is one of the nation’s most effective voices in championing access and success for all students in postsecondary education. A well-respected practitioner, reseacher, and policy advocate, Cooper serves as a national thought leader and discourse contributor to critical issues in higher education including college affordability and financial aid policy, institutional accountability, data quality and transparency, and diversity and equity. Prior to joining IHEP, Cooper held various leadership positions at the Advisory Committee on Student Financial Assistance at the U.S. Department of Education, Association of American Colleges and Universities, Council for Independent Colleges, and King’s College.
