A Child’s Christmas Cheers Up Local Youth

Posted

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is by helping children in need. Join the Pasadena Business Association in spreading that cheer by participating in the 19th annual A Child’s Christmas gift drive. With the help of many organizations – including the Chesapeake High School football and cheerleading teams – the Pasadena Business Association is able to provide gifts and food for roughly 100 children from 30 families in Pasadena.

The families are chosen by the school counselors at each elementary, middle and high school. Sponsors adopt a child, a family or even multiple families by purchasing items on the children’s wish lists. The gifts are wrapped and food is sorted by volunteers from the PBA and local high schools.

Anyone who wishes to make a donation may send a check payable to the PBA at P.O. Box 861, Pasadena, MD 21123. Donations are used to purchase food and basic necessities such as beds, mattresses and pillows.

For the last 14 years, Jacqueline Dunn Kellum has been the chairperson for A Child’s Christmas. She is able to make the program successful with the help of Sandi Parrish, Melissa Bajadek and many volunteers.
