“Ah!thentic” Italian Pizza Franchise Brings Handmade Artisan Pizza to Pasadena

When Marco’s Pizza opened in Lakeshore Plaza in March 2017, owners Beth and Brian Bogard wanted to bring the Ah!thentic Italian taste of Marco’s premium handmade artisan pizza, subs, salad and wings to Pasadena.

Having just been chosen as a finalist in the Maryland Gazette’s 2017 Reader’s Choice award, which selected Marco’s pizza as one of the best in North Anne Arundel County, in September 2017 and only six months after opening, the team has already achieved several of its goals: to be one of the best or best delivery, carryout and dine-in pizza restaurants in Pasadena and to earn that recognition from guests, who are also the Bogards’ friends and neighbors.

Beth and Brian’s passion for great delivery, carryout and dine-in pizza is clearly seen in the hard work put into Marco’s Pizza’s food – from its cheese pizza to its delectable specialty pizzas, as well as limited-time-offer pizzas. General Manager Andy Rohn, Assistant Manager Jacey Jesse and the team consisting mostly of Pasadena’s high school sons and daughters, many earning their first job, ensure that love goes into every menu item and that they are prepared well each time.

“Pizza lovers in Pasadena, Maryland, have quickly found that we’re substantially different from your typical pizza chain,” said Brian Bogard. “Beth and I were attracted to the Marco’s brand because it was founded on Italian freshness and quality standards, making it stand out from all other well-known brands. All ingredients are genuinely fresh and truly crave-able, and each of our offerings are crafted in the tradition of the classic Italian cook! Fresh ingredients, our secret sauce recipe and dough made fresh, in-store daily ensure the award-winning Marco’s Pizza, Ah!thentic Italian flavor. Beth and I are proud to serve Marco’s Pizza and offer such a quality experience to our friends and neighbors in Pasadena, Maryland.”

The Bogards are also looking to add additional locations in Anne Arundel and Howard counties in 2018 and beyond.

“We want Pasadena to know that Beth and I and our boys eat pizza every week!” said Brian. “With fast-growing 10- and 8-year-old boys, who seem to have appetites akin to an NFL football player, we are part of the 91 percent of Americans who eat pizza regularly and see this American favorite as an economical way to feed their families.”

Beth and Brian – who live, work and raise their family in Pasadena – strive to be deeply involved in the community and causes that are personally meaningful to them. They call it “Slice of the Community,” and Marco’s Pizza, in only six months, has already given back a “slice” of more than $1,500 to Jacobsville and Sunset elementary schools, Chesapeake High School, many local school sports teams and clubs, intramural sports teams, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, Friends of Downs Park, Best Buddies (the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities), and they will look to support local Pasadena churches, beginning with Galilee Lutheran Church in September. And they are only getting started. If fundraising is a goal of your group, Marco’s can help.

If you want to know why so many people consider the restaurant’s food to be one of the best pizzas in North Anne Arundel County, dine with them.
