Pasadena Baseball Club 15U players had their fingerprints all over a slew of team accomplishments this spring and summer.

First, two separate PBC 15U squads, PBC Gold and PBC Black, were the top teams of the 15U Anne Arundel County Co-Op league, which pitted teams from around the county against one another to maximize competitive balance. PBC Gold’s squad of Chago Weaverling, Bryce Norton, Cayden Beitle, Ryan Willey, Jake Ervin, Matthew Wright, Gavin Schut, Dalton Tankersley, Peyton Jackson, Mathias Kirby, Michael Carreker and Tyler Stone, coached by John Granger, had a strong season in league play, going 10-3.

The PBC Black team of Ryon Moats, Josh Deveaux, Ryne Curry, Conner McGregor, Josh Claytor, Michael Carnes, Nick Jones, Nikolai Hilton, Eddie Montano, Tye Curry, Cameron Woodmancy, Paul Moger and Troy Wicker, coached by head coach Will Claytor and assistant coaches Jan Finch, Earl Curran, Jeremy Holbrooks, Paul Moger Sr., Paul Hilton, Dave Bishop and Tom Galloway, went 14-1 in the Co-Op league regular season.

Black defeated Gold in the playoffs and went on to win the league championship with a 3-0 playoff run, culminating with a 9-3 win over Linthicum-Ferndale’s 15U Orioles in the championship game on June 15. Moats and Wicker pitched for PBC Black and allowed only three hits, while Claytor (team-high three base hits, two steals), Moats (two hits, three runs, three steals), Curry (two hits), Deveaux (three RBI), Carnes (one hit), Wicker (one hit) and Jones (one hit) all had offensive contributions in the victory.

PBC 15U Black and 15U Gold subsequently joined forces on an All-Star team that went 4-0-1 and won the Linthicum-Ferndale All-Star tournament championship. The All-Star team comprised players McGregor, Carnes, Moats, Claytor, DeVeaux, Tankersley, Beitle, Curry, Schut, Weaverling, Moger and Jackson, and they went on a tear in the LFYAA tournament. The PBC All-Stars tied rival Lake Shore 7-7 in the tournament’s opening game but posted victories over Howard County, Linthicum-Ferndale and Broadneck to set up a championship-game rematch with Lake Shore, which they won, 4-0, to claim the championship. McGregor, Moger and Beitle combined to pitch a one-hit shutout, while McGregor, Carnes and Tankersly all had two hits in the victory and Moats, Claytor, Beitle, Curry, Weaverling and Schut all contributed hits as well.

The All-Stars were coached by Will Claytor, Earl Curran, Paul Moger Sr., Mason Dickey and Jan Finch and assisted by team mom Gail Claytor.

“I cannot be more proud of a group of boys than I was during this tournament,” said coach Claytor of the PBC 15U All-Stars. “These players went from some being rivals during the regular season to being teammates during the All-Star tournament. They rose above their abilities and showed the true meaning of being an All-Star. Despite the extreme temperatures, they never once complained or wanted to give up. It was a great pleasure to be their coach. I give special thanks to all the coaches and for the amazing support of the parents and extended families.”
