A.M. Gable Keeps Pasadena Comfortable

Posted

It’s not glamorous, but it’s important — that’s how Karin Gable describes the HVAC industry, which she entered 30 years ago with her husband, Alan, to operate A.M. Gable Heating & Cooling, Pasadena’s go-to company for all comfort-care decisions for residential and commercial needs.

“It’s one of the locally owned and operated businesses that still has a personal touch,” Karin explained. “We still have the old-school philosophy of putting customers first and having a personal relationship.”

As both Karin and Alan are Pasadena natives who settled in their hometown to start their family, the two have a special connection to their customer base, and their relationship with each of their clients is just as personal as it is professional. “We want our customers to be customers for life,” said Karin, who often finds herself catching up with clients when they call for a service. “They like talking to someone who knows who they are and will chat about family happenings and their life.”

A.M. Gable handles primarily residential HVAC needs along with light commercial. Whether a customer is installing a new unit or servicing or upgrading an existing system, A.M. Gable will handle the job with professional staff members — never outside contractors — who are skilled and screened by the owners themselves. “Our customers are trusting us in their home,” Karin said. “We want them to have a positive experience from the moment they call us until the time one of our technicians leaves their home or business.”

A.M. Gable even provides 24-hour emergency service, offers free estimates, and is available to answer any questions that a person might have about their system.

In keeping with their personalized customer relationships and community-minded philosophy, the Gables are happy to contribute to fundraisers and other good causes on behalf of their business. Throughout the years, the company has sponsored school events, sports teams, churches and charities. “We want to support them like they support us,” Karin said. “It’s important for businesses to give back to the community.” Most recently, they supported Primo Pasta Kitchen’s third annual family festival and cornhole tournament to benefit the Kamryn Lambert Foundation.

Although A.M. Gable has grown throughout its 30 years in business, Karin and Alan have kept the company small by choice because it helps them maintain their personalized service with their clientele. It’s one of the reasons a customer will always talk to a real person when they call the office at 410-360-0991 between the hours of 7:30am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday — never a prerecorded message or an answering service. “We take it from beginning to end,” Karin said.
