Annual Horse Appreciation Day Set For September 17

Posted

The public is welcomed to attend the Pasadena Horse and Pony Association’s annual Horse Appreciation Day on September 17 at Dublin Farms, across from Chesapeake High School. Gates will open at 11:00am and the event will begin at noon.

Some of this year’s activities include horse demonstrations, pony rides, barn activities for kids, a moon bounce, farm animals, and local vendors. Additionally, Angel’s Food Market will be on site serving their famous pit beef.

The event will also pay tribute to long-time member and Pasadena resident Gail Varnedoe, who recently passed away from breast cancer. Varnedoe organized Horse Appreciation Day for eight consecutive years, and the day’s festivities will commemorate her efforts in the local horse community.
