Dine In The Dena Food Truck Nights

Food truck owners are parking their mobile kitchens at Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Company on Mondays throughout the summer from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Foodies can find an array of choices from the following vendors: Taco Bar; T & J Waffles; Jeno’s; Pasta La Vista, Baby; Wanna Pizza This; Greek on the Street; Beef on the Street; Koco Truck; Flat Chance; and Jimmy’s Seafood. The fire department will sell soda and water. Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Company is located at 8506 Fort Smallwood Road in Pasadena. Call 410-255-1314 for more information.

CPR/AED Classes at Earleigh Heights VFC

This event features two sessions. For medical professionals only, the health care provider CPR class will be held on June 23 from 8:00am to noon at the fire hall. The cost is $75 per person (checks payable to Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Co).

The friends and family CPR course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult hands-only CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR, and relief of choking in an adult, child or infant.

Family and friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. This course is ideal for schools and students, new parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life. The time is 1:00pm-4:00pm, and donations to the fire company are encouraged.

Preregistration for both courses is required by emailing cpr@ehvfc.org. The registration deadline is Sunday, June 17.

Downs Park Kayak Launch

The ribbon cutting for the new kayak launch from Downs Park onto the Bodkin is set for Wednesday, June 27, at 1:00pm with a rain date of Thursday, June 28, at 1:00pm. The Bodkin launch is finished and open now, so don't wait for the ribbon cutting if you want to paddle. Find the park at 8311 John Downs Loop in Pasadena.

Kids Fishing Derby

The Pasadena Sportfishing Group will hold its fishing derby on June 30 from 7:30am to 11:30am at Fort Smallwood Park, located at 9500 Fort Smallwood Road in Pasadena. Age categories are 4-8 and 9-13. Event and registration details are available at www.pasadenasportfishing.com. No walk-ins will be permitted on the day of the event.

Wounded Warrior Day Targeted For June 30

For the 10th year, Team One Network and about 15 of its partners will host dozens of veterans and their family members at Stoney Creek Fishing & Hunting Club for Wounded Warrior Day on June 30 at 10:00am. Wounded veterans from Walter Reed and Bethesda military hospitals attend the event along with current members of the military and other law enforcement officials.
