The Bucs 100-lb football team stampeded its way to an undefeated season and a county championship this fall.

Pasadena posted an 8-0 regular season and surrendered only one touchdown all year. The Bucs followed with a dominant 3-0 playoff run to win the Anne Arundel Youth Football Association 100-lb National Division High bracket championship.

The Bucs defeated South River 29-0 and the Panthers 22-6 in the first round and semifinals before topping Upper Queen Anne’s 20-0 in the championship game at North County High School on November 13 to secure the county crown.

The team, comprising Cameron Arrinton, Austin Bacchus, Gavin Bage, Zachary Bell, Scotty Czyz, Alexander Del Moral, Hunter Ferrer, David Fish, James Higgins III, Dominic Hunt, Larry Hurst, Caleb Jacobs, Ty Johnson, Matthew Kirkendall, Tyler Koo, Nicholas Mahoney, Dakota Owens, Zeriah San Nicolas, Bryce Storms, Darren Stover, David Sweeney, Camden Webb, Alexander Wolf and Daniel Wright, is still playing in the subsequent youth state championship tournament; the Bucs defeated Leonardtown 20-0 in the semifinals and will play for a state title in early December.

The Bucs are coached by Jay Jacobs, Kevin Webb, Johnny Hunt, James “Bubba” Corbett and Zack West.

Coach Jacobs expressed the pride he felt for the Bucs and how they competed this season.

“Our coaching staff could not be more proud of this team,” said Jacobs. “Watching both the individual growth and team growth week after week has made it an honor for us to coach this team. Over a matter of months our boys have grown from individuals playing a game into a family pushing for a common goal. [Focusing on] being better today than you were yesterday, these boys have achieved many great accomplishments this season and look forward to having the opportunity to add a state championship.”
