Davon Carroll won county championships in the 100- and 200-meter dashes and anchored Northeast’s winning 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams to help the Eagles boys track and field team to a fifth-place team finish at the Anne Arundel County championships at North County High School on May 10.

Carroll posted times of 10.93 seconds in the 100 and 21.52 seconds in the 200, winning both outdoor county titles for the second season in a row and asserting himself as a favorite to win the state crown in both events later this month.

Carroll also anchored the Eagles’ 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams to a winning race. In the 4x100, Carroll was about 10 meters behind the leader when he took the baton but turned on the burners to elicit oohs and ahs from the crowd and nip Annapolis at the line in a photo finish and win the title along with relay teammates Demetrius Jones, Anthony Valinotti and Demontay Snowden.

The Eagles also claimed a county title in the 4x200, beating North County by .23 seconds in a time of 1.29.45 behind a great run by Josh Krcik, Valinotti, Snowden and Carroll.
