Chesapeake Cheerleaders To Honor Community Hero At Holiday Bowl

NOMINATE YOUR HOMETOWN HERO - DEADLINE EXTENDED UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30!

The Chesapeake High School varsity cheerleading team has been invited to participate in college football’s Holiday Bowl in San Diego this December. The game will be nationally televised, and the Cougars cheerleading squad will be featured in the game’s opening performance and halftime show.

The theme of the Holiday Bowl is “Heroes.” Organizers are asking that each school attending nominate one or more heroes from its home town to recognize during the game.

Head Coach Lisa Freburger and the Chesapeake cheerleading team invite residents of Pasadena to nominate a local hero. Nominees can be members of the armed forces, doctors/EMTs, teachers, volunteers, community leaders or anyone who is worthy of being recognized as a hero; there is no set criteria.

Nominations must be received by September 15 September 30 and be less than 500 words describing why the chosen person is a hero to Pasadena. Submissions can be sent to Lisa Freburger at coachlisa06@yahoo.com, or by mail to Lisa Freburger, Chesapeake High School, 4798 Mountain Road Pasadena, MD 21122.

The hometown hero/heroes will be announced at the Chesapeake High School Homecoming football game on October 5.

Additionally, the Chesapeake cheerleading team will be holding various fundraisers in the coming months to cover the trip and accompanying expenses, and they are also accepting corporate donations. Donations can be sent to Lisa Freburger at the CHS address above.
