Chesterfield Orthodontics Will Make Your Smile Bright

Thoughts of the dentist often conjure up images of a lot of discomfort for some necessary, but not-so-visible results. For Dr. Robert Yoon, orthodontia is different. To Dr. Yoon, it’s a happy thing. Patients come in with a problem and finish with a great smile.

“It makes me feel good!” explains Dr. Yoon.

Originally an electrical engineer who worked for companies like IBM and BGE, Yoon turned to orthodontics because he was looking to get into what he calls a “happier” profession. His wife is in the health care field, and they had friends who were dentists. Orthodontia seemed a natural fit.

“There is a lot of engineering, biomechanics and physics behind orthodontia,” explains Yoon.

A Baltimore native, Dr. Yoon grew up in Owings Mills and when he turned to dentistry he attended the University of Maryland, and numerous awards and recognitions followed. He has been in practice since 2000, and partnered with Dr. Martin at Chesterfield Orthodontics 10 years ago. The two still work closely together.

“I went to school here, I’m familiar with the Baltimore Metro area, and it was the right time and the right place with Dr. Martin,” explains Dr. Yoon. “We clicked very well. He’s a great guy.”

Dr. Yoon exclusively provides orthodontia, which allows him to focus on providing the best service to his patients. “We spend a lot of time with our patients,” Yoon says. “This is a patient-oriented practice. We explain each step, we allow parents to sit next to their children to see what we do and how we do it. We utilize a new, paperless system with all digital x-rays. My engineering background helps; I believe communication is the most important part of the practice.”

Community is important as well for Dr. Yoon who supports local sports teams and organizations and his staff goes through local schools offering education on proper brushing and other aspects of dental hygiene. The office does a lot of Invisalign braces, but they offer a full-range of orthodontic services, patients can even go to the website and get a preview of their band colors and retainers, or play some fun games. The website is full of other helpful information for patients (and their parents), including a section with tips on oral hygiene and caring for your orthodontic devices.

The office is conveniently located in Pasadena on Edwin Raynor Boulevard and they can be reached at 410-255-0200, or on the web at www.cforthodontics.com.
