The Docksiders Level 10 Team traveled to Los Angeles, CA, to compete in the Heart of the Champion Gymnastics meet at UCLA on February 19, where they won the meet by point-six points.  The meet, which was held to promote awareness and raise money for children with heart defects, was an “All-Around” success for Docksiders, literally.

Krystal Welsh won the Senior All-Around with a score of 37.55.  She placed first on Uneven Bars, 2nd on Vault, and 3rd on Floor Exercise.

In the same age group, teammates Alexis Gross and Brianna Guy tied in the All-Around with a score of 37.475.  Gross placed second on the Balance Beam and third on Uneven Bars.  Guy placed first on Vault and first on Floor Exercise.  In addition to her event awards, Guy was honored with the Heart of the Champion medal for her difficulty on Floor Exercise, which far exceeded the level of the other teams.

Heather Atwood came in fourth place All-Around with a score of 37.40.  She was second on the Balance Beam to make it a sweep in the senior age group.

In the junior group, Alex Zois took third place on the Balance Beam and Chelcie Rosborough, Brittany Ricardo and Miranda Telmanik also contributed to the team’s victory.
