Festive Drinks For The Holiday Season

Happy holidays! It’s that time of year where there seems to be a get-together or party every weekend. If you don’t want to show up empty-handed, or if you’re the host, impress your company with these easy holiday drinks.

Christmosas

Ingredients (adjust amount based on reader’s serving size)

  • 2 green apples, chopped
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries, whole
  • 1 cup green grapes, halved
  • 1 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1 cup sparkling grape juice
  • 1 bottle champagne or prosecco

Not too much to this one. In a pitcher or punch bowl, add all of your fruit. When ready to serve, pour the grape juice and champagne/prosecco over top of the fruit. Serve.

Irish Eggnog Coffee

Ingredients

  • 2 cups eggnog
  • 1 cup coffee (brewed)
  • Sugar (to taste)
  • 1/3 cup Irish cream liqueur
  • 1/4 cup brandy (or White Christmas, which is mixed brandy and rum)
  • Ground nutmeg (optional topping)

Brew your cup of coffee and stir in the sugar. Let stand for one to two minutes to slightly cool. Combine with eggnog. Stir in Irish cream and brandy. Garnish with nutmeg, and serve.

Nutella Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp Nutella
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Optional toppings:

  • Marshmallows
  • Crushed hazelnuts
  • Chocolate chips

Heat milk in a saucepan on medium-high until it gets warm and starts to steam. Add the Nutella, cocoa powder and sugar, and whisk until it all combines. Bring to a simmer while continuing to stir. Serve with chosen toppings.

Custom, Festive Marshmallow Toppings

You will need:

  • Cookie cutters
  • Marshmallows (big and flat)

Do you have your holiday cookie cutters sitting around? Make a festive treat with custom marshmallows. Take the flat marshmallows, and use the cookie cutters to create whatever shapes you want: Santa, tinsel, personal monogrammed letters, snowmen, you name it. Now, plop your custom marshmallows into hot chocolate (or use it for fondue!), and you have a custom twist on an easy dessert.
