Hancock's Resolution Tom Sawyer Day

Posted

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED to help us White wash the frame buildings (dry weather required).

Hancock's Resolution is one of the few places in the mid-Atlantic region that still whitewashes (not paints) the frame buildings on the farm.

We need volunteers, wearing caps, grubbies and eye protection, to help us whitewash. This is a traditional activity on old farms, made famous by the Mark Twain story, "The Glorious Whitewasher" in the "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer".
