Havenwood 10U Revolution Rise To Top Of MD Rankings

Posted

The Havenwood Revolution 10U softball team has picked up right where it left off in fall ball, powering to the top 10U ranking in Maryland and a No. 31 national ranking.

The team of Kyleigh Dye, Madison Burris, Carlee Cornwell, Mackenzie Weiland, Ryleigh Smoot, Aliyah Allen, Reese Butler, Taylor Castle, Kayleigh Fyffe and Jenna Burroughs, coached by Lynn Castle, Heather Butler and Candy Malone, is 17-6 overall an 10-2 in its division. Havenwood has two standout tournament performances this year: a championship at the Halloween Havoc in Salisbury last fall and a runner-up finish at an indoor tournament in Spooky Nook, Pennsylvania.

“I’m so proud of the work every girl on this team puts in,” said coach Castle. “Pitchers Madison Burris, Jenna Burroughs and Kayleigh Fyffe are gaining confidence and control with every pitch. Catchers Reese Butler and Taylor Castle gun down runners. Second baseman Aliyah Allen is a ball magnet and works well with our first baseman Ryleigh Smoot. Right fielder Kyleigh Dye is always in the right place at the right time, and center fielder Carlee Cornwell has an eye for fly balls. Utility player Mackenzie Weiland is ready to play anywhere and will get the job done.

“The future is bright for Havenwood Revolution. I can’t wait to see the memories they make.”

Castle noted the team currently has an opening for a player. If interested, contact Lynn Castle at 443-623-8957 or castle903@yahoo.com.
