Knights Of Columbus Hosts Fourth Annual Joey Sudo Memorial Golf Classic

The Knights of Columbus Council 11552 — St. Andrew By the Bay will host the fourth annual Joey Sudo Memorial Golf Classic at Compass Pointe Golf Course in Pasadena on Friday, June 15. Registration begins at 8:00am with a shotgun start at 9:00am. A four-player, scramble-style tournament includes lunch on the course, a buffet dinner, unlimited beer and soda, a hole-in-one prize and awards ceremony, as well as raffles, door prizes and a silent auction.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place; closest to the pin; longest drive; and other surprise contests. A hole-in-one wins $10,000. In conjunction with the Sudo family, the council is proud to host this fundraiser in memory of Joey Sudo, who died of a rare cancer in April 2012. The event supports the Joey Sudo Memorial Fund, which was established by the council and the Sudo family to honor Joey’s life and legacy of bravery under adversity. To date, the fund has distributed more than $13,000 to individuals and families struggling with serious, life-threatening or terminal illnesses. In addition, in the last two years, it has given more than $3,000 worth of Lego sets used as bingo prizes for Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.

Business and individual sponsors are sought at several levels: corporate sponsor ($1,500), gold sponsor ($500), beverages ($400), putting contest ($300), lunch or golf tees ($275) and hole sponsors at $100 each. Companies or individuals that sponsor holes will be recognized with their names on a sign at the hole. Thanks to Revell Service Center and Revista, which are already sponsors of this year’s event.
