The Pasadena Golf Center recently made an addition to their staff. Brett Francisco was brought on to provide lessons to residents of any age and to increase the services of the center. Francisco enjoys what the game of golf can teach: patience, self-control and respect, to name a few, but what he wants to do even more is educate area residents on “the joy of learning a game that you can play your entire life.”

“Brett adds an entire new dimension to our golf center,” said General Manager Brandt Schanberger. “After he provides the lesson, we hope golfers practice on the driving range. Also, as his reputation grows we should be able to draw golfers from throughout the county.”
Brett began playing golf shortly before he turned five years of age, and he recalls putting inside and placing dents on his parent’s tile floor.
“The first time I played golf was with my dad in West Virginia. What better way to spend father-son time than spending four hours with your dad on a golf course?” he asks.
During high school, Brett would play at least 36 holes a day. Many times, his parents would have the headlights on the putting green so he could putt in the dark. After he graduated, Brett kept his dream of being a professional golfer alive by working at many golf courses while working toward an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Management. He was also certified by the Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach. Finally, he went on to gather many advanced teaching certificates and is now PGA certified.
Brett charges $75 per hour lesson and begins by interviewing the golfer on what they are looking for as far as advancing in the game, what injuries they may have, any sports have they have played previously, and about their general knowledge of golf.
“I do a video analysis of their swing and then come out with a lesson plan to improve their game,” said Brett. “I also go through demonstrations of proper swinging mechanics, grip, and aim. Then I suggest they practice four times in 10 days and then we re-convene,” he explained.
Brett has already provided assistance to some local high school students. One of his young prodigies made the golf team after just one lesson.
“I have had folks from age four to 82 take lessons from me… To see people learn the game and succeed is very rewarding to me,” he noted.
To celebrate Brett’s addition at Pasadena Golf Center, the staff will host a Grand Re-Opening of the center on the weekend of April 15-17. Golfers can see the new additions to the golf center, including new pads in the driving range and a new miniature golf course. Additionally, there will be a “demo-day” on April 15 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with an Adams Golf representative.
