PBA Update

Posted

It is hard to believe that the Christmas holidays are here already. Where does the time go? On behalf of the Pasadena Business Association, we wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season. This is a fun time for family and friends to get together.

Remember to shop local when buying those gifts. We keep the money in Pasadena by shopping in Pasadena. We help our local businesses thrive so they can give back to the community by supporting our sports teams, schools and churches. You can find goods and services on the PBA website (www.pasadenabusinessassociation.com). You can also pick up a PBA Membership Directory and Community Guide at Lauer’s supermarkets or PBA member businesses. These are the people who support all of the community assistance projects that the PBA offers, such as the tree lighting ceremony, Veterans Day ceremony, A Child’s Christmas, scholarships, school supply drive, etc. Please support them.

It was great to see all the veterans and active military at the PBA Veterans Day ceremony. We were blessed to be able to spend this day with those who protected and still protect our freedom. PBA gave all of them a dog tag keychain to thank them for their service. Children from Bodkin, Pasadena and Jacobsville elementary schools made thank-you cards and they were precious. Boy Scout Troop 773, which helps the PBA maintain the flag site, turned the reins over to Solley Cluster Girl Scouts. Troop 773 has helped with the site since 2002, when some of their troop was Cub Scouts. We want to thank them for all they have done for the community and we will miss them.

PBA held a 30th anniversary party at Kurtz’s Beach, and it was great to see some of the members we don’t see often and those we haven’t seen in years. Carol Cross, the original executive director for 18 years, and her husband, Nelson Cross, one of the original members, came to help us celebrate. We watched a picture show from years past, and it was fun to see the changes in our members, especially the hairstyles. Thanks to everyone who donated a prize to give away. We gave away a prize every 15 minutes. Thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated with PBA. We want to thank Lauer’s Supermarket & Bakery for the cake and Edible Arrangements in Glen Burnie for the fruit arrangement.

This is a great time to join the PBA and be a part of the fun. For information about the PBA, contact 410-360-4PBA or pasadenabusinessassociation1@verizon.net, or visit www.pasadenabusinessassociation.com.
