PBA Update

Posted

I think spring has finally sprung, or at least I hope so. Everyone is eager to get out and enjoy the warmer weather. This is the time of year when we are getting our yards back in shape, planting those beautiful flowers and washing the winter debris off our houses, so let Pasadena Business Association members give you a hand with goods and services. We have many members ready and willing to help. Pick up a Membership Directory and Community Guide or go to our website, www.pasadenabusinessassociation.com, and look under the category of service you need. Remember to shop local and keep in mind that these member businesses are the ones that give back to the PBA and the community.

The Shop Local Scavenger Hunt was a fun event. We invited the winners to our April general membership meeting and awarded the prizes. Donated by Costello's Ace Hardware & Hearth, first place was a fire pit full of prizes and it was awarded to Michael Carter. Kaitlyn Stanley was our second-place winner and Kelly Jensen was our third-place winner. We thank all of the PBA members for their donations and we thank everyone who participated in the scavenger hunt.

We will award our scholarships to six deserving local high school seniors on June 6 at our general membership meeting. Our annual scholarship fundraising totaled $11,800. Thanks to all who attended the scholarship fundraiser, our sponsors and those who donated items for the silent auction. Thanks to Primo Pasta Kitchen and the Greene Turtle for sponsoring a scholarship night and donating to the program.

The Shop Local Festival will be on June 8 from 10:00am–3:00pm at Lakeshore Plaza. This is a great way for the community to see what PBA business vendors have to offer, listen to music, play some games, watch some demonstrations and have fun. We have sponsorship opportunities and booth rentals available to all PBA members.
