PBA Update

As members of the Pasadena Business Association, we enjoy the community events we provide. We also need to fundraise to have these events every year. Our 15th annual golf tournament is one of the fundraising events we host. The proceeds from this tournament go toward our community assistance projects, which include Educational Excellence Awards, the fifth-grade straight-A lunch, the Veterans Day ceremony, the parade, the tree lighting ceremony, the flag, etc. Please get your foursomes ready, register to play golf and have a fun day. This is open to the public, so we hope to see you on September 12 at Compass Pointe Golf Course.

We will have a continental breakfast with doughnuts, bagels, coffee and juice. There will also be hot dogs on the turn, and we will have a smokehouse buffet including Italian sausage with peppers and pit beef, two salads and dessert. There will be two beverage carts, and hole-in-one prizes, including a hot tub.

Eagle Sponsors ($1,000) are major sponsors of the tournament and will receive a tee sign, a complimentary foursome, special recognition and logo in our program, and an introduction at the awards dinner.

All sponsors get recognition in our program and at the awards dinner, along with a sign. Sponsor levels are Closest to the Pin ($350), Longest Drive ($350), Beverage Cart ($350) and Putting Contest ($300).

Registration rates as of August 20 are $140 for an individual player, $540 for a foursome, $625 for a corporate sponsor and $135 for a tee sign sponsor.

There will be a putting contest and prizes for the longest drive and closest to the pin. If you’re interested in playing golf or donating a prize, visit www.pasadenabusinessassociation.com, email pasadenabusinessassociation1@verizon.net or call 410-360-4PBA (4722). You can pay online with a credit card or mail a check to PBA, P.O. Box 861, Pasadena, MD 21123.

The PBA’s annual crab feast was moved from July to September because of the extreme heat. This year, it will be held on Wednesday, September 26, at Kurtz’s Beach, from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Crabs will be served from 6:30pm to 9:30pm, and other food will be served from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The menu will consist of crabs, crab soup, barbecue, fried chicken, sausage, baked pasta, baked pineapple, hot dogs, chili and cheese, vegetables and dip, green beans, fresh fruit, rolls and crackers, assorted salads and dessert. Included in the ticket price is draft beer, soda, coffee and iced tea. A cash bar will be available for wine, canned and bottled products and mixed drinks. Tickets cost $55 for adults ($65 after September 20) and $40 for children ages 6 to 10 ($50 after September 20), and children 5 and under are free.

You can register on the website and pay with a credit card, drop a check in the mail, or stop by Arundel Federal Savings Bank in Lakeshore Plaza or BB&T on Mountain Road to purchase tickets.

PBA will hold its 25th annual trade show on October 11 at Earleigh Heights Fire Hall from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. This is a great event to showcase 40 PBA members and what they have to offer. The event is open to the public and will kick off the PBA food drive.

November 11: Annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the memorial flag site (Route 100 and Mountain Road) at 1:00pm
