The Pasadena Soccer Club ’09 United girls soccer team produced an outstanding fall campaign, pairing a strong regular season in the Central Maryland Soccer Association with a championship-winning performance at the Bethesda Premier Cup in mid-November.

The PSC United roster of Kalli Brandon, Kaya Fowler, Alyssa Hartman, MaKenna Idleman, Isabella Jacoby, Isabel Kress, Fiona Mitchell-Fatula, Autumn Suska, Shayna Tobin, Bryleigh Turner and Erika Valdovinos went 6-2 in CMSA play this fall, notching wins over Fallston, Baltimore Union, Westminster, Harford Football Club and Hereford Soccer Club.

Competing at the Premier Cup, the United parlayed their regular-season success into a trophy performance, going 4-0 and winning the tournament championship. Wins over the Calvert Soccer Association Blaze and the Great Falls, Virginia Fire on day one of the tournament were powered by three goals by Valdovinos, two by Idleman and one each by Brandon, Tobin and Turner. On day two, a whopping six goals by Valdovinos and goals by Tobin and Brandon helped the PSC United to a 5-1 win over the Soccer Association of Columbia Premier in the semifinal and a 3-0 shutout over the Blaze in the championship game. The team perfectly executed the second-half kickoff in the championship to score within 10 seconds, and Fowler notched her second shutout of the tournament in goal to close out the cup victory.

The United are coached by Joe Turner and Brendan Suska. Mom Amy Suska praised the spirit of the group, saying, “Love this team! They are a good group of girls. Very competitive and always happy to be on the field.”
