Each month, the Pasadena Voice poses a question to a local fifth-grade class. This month, students from Mrs. Gaither’s class at Solley Elementary School answered the question:
What do you want to learn in fifth grade this year?
I want to learn science because I like experiments.
I want to learn about science because I want to learn how to make a volcano explode.
The thing I really want to learn is to read harder books so I can understand what they are about and get to a higher level of reading.
I want to learn more about science, like how clouds form tornadoes and storms.
I want to learn how to build a robot in science because I want to study the technology for it.
I want to learn division in math because last year I wasn’t the best at it, but if you keep trying, you’ll get better at it.
I would love to learn more in STEM because I want to learn how to make a model airplane.
I want to learn about reading because it is good for you and it helps your brain. I also want to learn how to build a robot in science because that’s cool!
I want to learn about the solar system so when I go home, I can tell my family all about it.
I want to learn more about decimals because it’s like money and that’s interesting to learn about.
I would like to learn pottery in art so I can make something.
I want to learn how to multiply better so I can get an A in math.
I want to learn how to write so I can write letters to my family, friends and favorite teacher!
I would like to learn how to blend colors in art because I like coloring.
I want to learn about complicated shapes because I am a little weak on that subject.
I want to learn more about multiplication because I love math. It is exciting to see what you get!
I want to learn how to write 2,000 words so I can make my mystery story longer.
I want to learn hard multiplication because I love multiplication and I want to have a challenge.
I want to learn more about science because you can create anything if you just ask, imagine, plan and create.
