Strong Showing for CYLA Storm At Warrior LAX Splash Tournament

The 9/10 C Division CYLA Storm girls lacrosse team went 5-1 at the 2011 Warrior Lax Splash Tournament at Timonium Fairgrounds June 3-5, reaching the championship game and finishing as the runner-up in a field of 32 teams.

Holding tryouts to select players from several different organizations, Head Coach Mandy Beal was happy to see her team come together quickly, as the tournament was the first time the girls have played together. “They’ve been working hard and having a great time,” said Beal, who noted this is the first time CYLA has put together a club team specifically to travel to various tournaments. The Storm will continue their summer tournament schedule when they head to Virginia Beach to compete in the Virginia Beach Sun and Surf Tournament the weekend of June 17.

The team is coached by Mandy Beal, Sarah Carson, and Teri Lawn
