After a series of “friends and family” dinners and a soft opening, we officially cut the ribbon for the grand opening of Garten by Preserve. Owners Michelle and Jeremy Hoffman spoke passionately about the beautiful renovation of the space, their vision for the restaurant and being overwhelmed by the positive response from the community. Their restaurant is now open for lunch, and you can see the beautiful butterfly garden in the back. And you can eat al fresco as they have heaters over the tables.

A ribbon-cutting was held for the grand opening of the Bryki Gallery in Millersville. Owner Sara Bryki is a national figure and expert in curated crystals and healing with crystals. The gallery is filled with incredibly beautiful display pieces, home décor and, of course, jewelry.

Our Successful Women in Business group held a luncheon at the wonderful Broadneck Grill in Cape St. Claire. The restaurant features delicious Mexican food, and best of all is their house-made desserts including chocolate mousse cake, key lime pie, mud pie and polar bear cake. The featured speaker was Lauren Parker, register of wills, who gave a spirited talk on the importance of having a will.

Our Wellness Committee arranged two events in October. The morning event featured life coach Debbie McTammany of True You, Navigating Through Change, who talked about “showing up for you” and the value of a life coach to help you set goals and stay motivated. The luncheon, held at Romilo’s Restaurant and Bar, featured Gigi Burkhalter of Stretch. Bliss Wellness. She spoke about her journey through breast cancer and the importance of advocating for your own health.
