A new and growing group of young women in Pasadena, the Chesapeake Blue Crabs are hosting their second annual girls baseball tournament this weekend from August 10-11 at the Lake Shore Athletic Complex at 850 Woods Road in Pasadena.
Named The Skylar Kaplan Pioneer Series, the tournament honors Skylar Kaplan, a female baseball player who struggled with the stigma that baseball is only for boys. She grew up playing in Pasadena and now plays baseball at St. Mary’s College.
The games begin at 11:30am on Saturday and the championship games will be Sunday at 12:30pm. To learn more, visit www.chesapeakegirlsbaseball.org.
