Giant Food Awards Nearly $16,000 To Bodkin Elementary

As part of its Giant A+ School Rewards program, the store donated $15,974 to Bodkin Elementary on June 1. Principal Rachel Amstutz (middle) and two students accepted the check from Giant Food representatives Daniel Wolk and Nina Flynn.

The program allows customers to register online, and portions of qualifying purchases are donated to participating schools. The Bodkin PTA will use the funds for technology upgrades, to provide planners for every student, to offer basic necessities like hand sanitizer, and plan events such as Santa Saturday, Grandparents Day and the annual environmental fair.
