PBA Update

I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving.

This is always a busy time of year for the Pasadena Business Association. We have a golf tournament and community crab feast in September, trade show in October, parade and Veteran’s Day ceremony in November, and tree lighting in December.

Our Caring & Sharing Parade was a fun afternoon for many who either participated or just came out to watch. I know the parade is entertaining for some people, but for others, it was an inconvenience. Please know that this is once a year on the first Sunday of November starting at 2:00pm. It was our 24th year doing the parade and we will be doing it for our 25th year on November 1, so mark your calendars.

We collected enough food to supply seven Pasadena pantries with food for the holidays. Thank you to all of our corporate and community sponsors, all who participated, all who watched, and those who donated food for those less fortunate.

The ninth annual Veterans Day ceremony was really nice. We had 200-plus people in attendance. The veterans and active military were presented with a gift and thank you cards while they announced their name and when and where they served. The thank you cards written by students in Pasadena, Jacobsville and Bodkin elementary schools were a big hit. This is truly one of my favorite events of the year.

This ceremony is always on Veterans Day at 1:00pm at the flag located at the intersection of Route 100 and Mountain Road, so plan to attend next year.

PBA maintains the flag site and flag with the help from many of our businesses, so thanks to all for the continued support.

Remember to shop local whenever possible. These local businesses are supporting our community, so please support them.

I can’t believe Christmas is right around the corner. We wish you a happy holiday.
