Opportunities Abound For Fireworks Displays

For many families, fireworks are a favorite Fourth of July tradition, and this week there are numerous opportunities Wednesday through Saturday to view spectacular fireworks displays. Below is a list of firework shows to be enjoyed by all, whether staying local or heading to the Eastern Shore this weekend.

June 3 – Bowie, MD: The Bowie Baysox will host their biggest fireworks display of the year on Wednesday following their home game against the Richmond Flying Squirrels. The game is at 6:35pm, with an Independence Day celebration to follow.

June 3 – Severn River, MD: The Sherwood Forest neighborhood will begin its fireworks show just after dark. Though Sherwood Forest is a gated community, the fireworks will be visible by boat from the Severn River or from select community beaches in Severna Park.

June 3 – Glen Burnie, MD: The Glen Burnie Improvement Association will also host its fireworks display a day early around 9:00pm at Sawmill Creek Park. View the association’s Facebook page for parking information.

July 4 – Annapolis, MD: Following a parade and concert, the Annapolis fireworks will be set off at approximately 9:15pm at City Dock. The show will be visible from downtown, by boat and from parts of Eastport.

July 4 – Baltimore, MD: Charm City will kick off its fireworks and drone display over the Inner Harbor at 9:30pm following live musical performances.

July 4 – Delmarva beaches: Beachgoers can catch fireworks shows in Ocean City, Maryland, and Bethany Beach, Delaware, on Independence Day. Ocean City will offer simultaneous shows at Northside Park on the bay and along the boardwalk at Caroline Street at 9:30pm, and Bethany’s display will go off at dusk.

July 5 – Oxford, MD: Located near Easton, the town of Oxford will host its Independence Day celebrations on Friday, with fireworks along the river at dusk.

July 6 – St. Michaels, MD: Another popular Talbot County destination, St. Michaels will offer a Saturday riverfront fireworks display beginning at dusk.

July 6 – Rehoboth Beach, MD: Heading to the beach after the holiday? Visible from the boardwalk and beach, the City of Rehoboth’s fireworks display will launch around 9:30pm on Saturday, following a free concert at the bandstand.
