Pasadena Sportfishing Group Prepares For 25th Annual Flea Market

Posted
With a 25-year lifespan in Anne Arundel County, Pasadena Sportfishing Group’s annual flea market has become a celebrated event, which will return this year on February 18-19 at Earleigh Heights Fire Hall (161 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park).

Guests can look for more than 150 tables packed with discounted items: custom-built rods and lures, fishing tackle, crabbing supplies, and nautical crafts and antiques. On hand will be BURRbenders Knife Sharpening, charter boat captains and other fishing clubs. And there are plenty of items unrelated to fishing.

We have artists and people selling T-shirts,” said Ted Peapos, president of the Pasadena Sportfishing Group. “I do all kinds of things: clothing and hunting gear. Even the ladies love it. Last year, the event was on Valentine’s Day, so we had Valentines baskets.

The food spread will have hot pit beef and ham sandwiches, oyster on the half shell and beer. More than 3,000 people usually attend the flea market, with proceeds going toward the kids fishing derby.

Hours are 8:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, February 18, and Sunday, February 19. Admission is $5 for each day; kids 12 and under get in free. For more information, call 410-439-3474.

We do it once a year and everyone loves it; Mr. George Bentz did it for almost 24 years, and I did it last year with the help of his son, George Bentz Jr. I made it bigger and better than ever.”
