Stevens Battery Warehouse Is Powered By Excellence In Customer Service

The possibilities of batteries have grown tremendously since John and Sue Stevens opened the first Stevens Battery Warehouse. In 1983, when the husband-and-wife team set up shop at 8220 Ritchie Highway in Pasadena, batteries were not nearly as complex and ubiquitous as they are today, but Stevens Battery Warehouse has kept up with the times and technology, all while staying true to its vision of being a one-stop family-owned local establishment for all battery needs.

“What makes us different is us,” observed General Manager Eric Flamino. “We have employees who have been here for more than 10 years, 20 years, even close to 30 years. We have expertise in batteries and excel in customer service.”

John and Sue’s tradition is continued today by their son Mike, the current owner. The business has expanded to three locations, with two in Pasadena and one in Annapolis, and many customers are regulars whose parents and grandparents have shopped there. Patrons know they can come to the team at Stevens Battery for honest, dependable service and products.

The store carries batteries manufactured by Deka, JCI and Exide & Crown. These manufacturers cover 99 percent of all auto light truck batteries sold in North America, and customers will likely find these name-brand batteries cheaper and fresher at Stevens than at a big-box store - and most installations are free while the customer waits. “We cater to our neighbors and we stand by what we sell,” Flamino illustrated.

In fact, the excellent service begins before the customer even gets out of the car. “I tell people all the time that all you have to do is pull up front and pop the hood,” Flamino explained. “Someone from inside will grab the tester and go outside to greet the customer before they even have to come in the door.”

Stevens Battery Warehouse carries a wide variety of batteries for any need, from smartphone batteries to 162-pound high-end marine batteries. And because environmental responsibility is a priority, the business meets all requirements for storing and recycling.

The team stays informed of the latest developments in the market and industry by attending trade shows every year. Flamino indicated that several recent developments include lithium batteries that are becoming more popular, as well as the option of solar charging, which could allow customers to keep their toys charged without using electricity.

Stevens Battery Warehouse is there for its customers not only in a business sense but also in a community sense. Mike Stevens is a big supporter of high school athletics and always sponsors the local teams by placing ads at the stadium. Additionally, the store donates batteries for study at CAT-North and provides door prizes for fundraisers to benefit nonprofits such as the VFW and Providence Center.

Customers who want to learn more about Stevens Battery Warehouse can stop by for a visit – and a complimentary battery test – at any location. The flagship store is located at 8220 Ritchie Highway in Pasadena, but other locations can be found at 3003 Mountain Road in Pasadena and 1900 Forest Drive in Annapolis.
